LinkedIn Ads for Summer Camps
LinkedIn ads recruiting camp counselors always spike a couple of months before camp starts. Recruitment agencies run most of these ads, but camps have the opportunity to run their own ads to recruit the best counselors.
Here are a few things to think about when running LinkedIn ads for counselor recruitment:
1. Targeting is key:
Most students use LinkedIn specifically to find jobs. Make sure you layer on the best targeting possible to maximize results. For example, if you are a camp in Texas, you can target students, 19+, who are attending the University of Texas.
2. CPCs can be expensive:
When I ran some test ads for a client of mine, I saw that CPCs (cost per click) for qualified traffic were somewhere around $2 a click! The same exact ad, targeting and creative on Facebook saw CPCs closer to 45 cents. The traffic more or less produced the same results and I paused the LinkedIn ads in favor of more budget toward Facebook ads. Be aware of your camp’s budget when running these ads.
3. Results matter:
As mentioned above, you want to make sure that the results of these ads are aligned with your other marketing activities. For example, if you pay a flat fee per year to be featured in a camp directory for counselor jobs, match the results you see from that activity to the results you are seeing from your LinkedIn ads.
LinkedIn ads should certainly play a role in your marketing mix for recruiting counselors. Email me blake (at) socialsummercamp (dot) com if you want to learn more or have any questions.
