Resources on social media and summer camps
I’ve been reading a lot lately about social media and about summer camps in an effort to always be up to date on various ideas. I wanted to quickly share some books and blogs I’ve been reading for your enjoyment.
Books:
How Children Succeed by Paul Tough: This book was recommended to me by one of my camp partners as a great way to learn more about child development at summer camp. It goes in depth on developing non-cognitive skills. So far a very interesting read.
The Icarus Deception: How High Will You Fly by Seth Godin: This book is all about finding the courage to be great. I’ve found it extremely interesting so far and I think it would be a great read for my camp partners to learn more about dreaming big and being bold.
The Thank You Economy by Gary Vaynerchuk: I haven’t started this book yet, but it is supposed to be a great book to learn more about delighting your customers on social media. This is up next on my list.
Blogs:
Mashable, Social Media Section: This is the blog I use most often to stay up to date on social media technology. I highly recommend spending a few minutes here every morning if you are trying to learn about social media.
Brian Solis: I’ve been reading this blog for years. Lots of great information on social media, media in general, advertising and marketing.
Web-Strategist: Another great social media blog with lots of deep research and insight into the social media world.
I clearly need more summer camp type blogs on this list, so please comment below if you are following any good ones!
